Architecture
Türkiye's diverse community and dynamic history have led to various architectural styles with distinctive characteristics. Istanbul's ancient part contains structures from Byzantine, Genoese, Ottoman, and modern Turkish sources, including mosques, churches, synagogues, palaces, castles, and towers. Many historic buildings have been restored and converted into hotels and restaurants. In the 1970s, a return to classical Turkish architecture blended with contemporary techniques for new syntheses.

Nature
Türkiye's diverse landscape, including seas, mountains, valleys, highlands, and depressions, provides a variety of habitats for mammals, birds, and reptiles. The majority of the country's terrain is mountainous, resulting in varying climates across regions. Inland areas are typically hot and dry in the summer and cold and snowy in the winter, while coastal areas of the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas experience warmer weather. The southeastern region has semi-arid tropical conditions, and altitude-related temperature variations occur in the mountains. Türkiye is home to a range of wildlife, such as bears, leopards, red deer, wolves, jackals, and striped hyenas.
It is common for stray cats and dogs to roam the streets in Türkiye. These animals are commonly collectively cared for by the locals and well-fed. Cats are generally favoured more than dogs. However, even in the less dog-friendly areas, kicking, spitting or shooing is generally frowned upon.
