What do Mexicans normally wear every day?

Mexican women wear casual, and most of the time, colourful clothes. The outfits can change depending on the urban tribes and regions. Women from big cities love to follow the fashion from US/Europe. It's very common to wear jeans and beautiful blouses. Unfortunately, due to violence against women, they avoid wearing skirts or dresses outside in public. Women feel more comfortable wearing anything they like at parties, concerts, shopping centres and cities by the beach.

Mexican men are not so interested at all to follow fashion trends. They wear most of the time casual styles: shorts, jeans, soccer jerseys or simple t-shirts. For work, if they're businessmen, then you can see them wearing nice suits. Young people and LGBTQ groups are more creative with their outfits.

Native Attire

Mexico is rich in culture, so the list would be long if we mention all the tribes! Many communities still wear their traditional clothes and they speak their dialect. Native communities are located in different regions of the territory: Oaxaca, Chiapas, Puebla, Mexico City and Veracruz. Most of them are migrating to the big cities looking for work opportunities.

Regional Folkloric Attire

The term regional is referring to the way that people used to dress in the 19th and 20th centuries. Regional clothes are used by dancers in folkloric festivals or for music such as Mariachi.
