Language

Italian is the official language of Italy and the most widely spoken language across the country. Italy has a rich and varied linguistic heritage: while Italian is the mother language of more than 90% of the population, many Italians often use it along with one of the regional variants of Italian, regional languages and local dialects, to communicate both at home and at work. There is also a relatively small percentage of the population using a different language to communicate. Italian language is widely used for all types of communication in daily life and is largely prevalent in the media, the public administration and the publishing industry.
