Argentina is home to people that come from many different ethnic backgrounds. The majority of the population are Old World immigrants and their descendants. Argentinians are friendly and highly social people who enjoy being around family and friends. It’s important to represent these individuals in their true colours!

What do Argentinians normally wear everyday?

During different seasons, women can be spotted wearing patterned dresses, skirts, and one-piece outfits. While jeans remain a popular choice, leggings in various textures and colours are also favored. Pairing a stylish blouse or t-shirt with jeans is a trendy street fashion look. Among the younger crowd, vibrant colours and playful patterns are more prevalent, with oversized clothing currently being trendy.

Skinny jeans, shorts, soccer jerseys, and rock band t-shirts are among the trendiest streetwear items. Embracing a more gender-neutral fashion, young individuals opt for shirts with playful designs, vibrant colors, leggings, and oversized clothing. When it comes to formal events, a stylish plaid shirt, a jacket, and a quality belt make up the most sought-after combination.

Folkloric Attire

Paisana attire consists of a long skirt worn without a petticoat, along with a kind of long-sleeved sweater that goes up to the neck. On her feet, the paisana wears “alpargatas”.

Gaucho outfit consists of: chiripa girding the waist, a wool poncho, and long accordion-pleated pants, known as bombachas. The pants are gathered at the ankles and cover the tops of high leather boots. Different texture and colour variations according to the region e.g. Gauchos from Salta wear a red and black poncho.
